Farm Women's Club has a long history of gatherings, weekends away and visits, sometimes abroad. Since changes brought about in 2008 we are proud that the now traditional February (City) Weekend, the October (Walking) Weekend and the Five Counties Lunch have continued without interruption. This has been achieved through the dedication and voluntary efforts of individuals and groups of members around the country. It has meant that members have been able to continue meeting and making new and lasting friendships with others from all parts of the country.
THANK YOU to any and all who have been involved in the organisation of any of our local, regional or national events. Any ideas for future events would be very welcome.

Llangollen

So much to enjoy along with some sunshine in which to enjoy it! Sea air, snow topped mountains, beautiful views and great company. What's not to like ?

Peterborough

Yes, we know we said it was only 8 miles and it was more like 12 - BUT IT WAS FLAT - and there was a super bus ride out to the start of the walk at Yarwell Mill ! Despite this everyone came again the following year.
Bradford on Avon

It always adds interest to walk along a waterway. In Bradford on Avon we had two; the canal on the way to Freshford and the river on the way back; although some took the train back after lunch !
Shipley

A variety of walks were enjoyed by over 40 guests. Fortunately a couple of light showers only briefly interrupted an otherwise sunny, mild weekend. Many visited Howarth and other places of historical interest.
Bridlington

We stayed right on the seafront at The Expanse Hotel and enjoyed walks on all three days. These included Flamborough Head, north shore to Sewerby Hall and south shore to Fraisthorpe.
Virtual Walks

Walking in groups of more than six was prohibited. So we encouraged members to arrange their own small group walks in their own locations. We then managed to re-group in 2021 in Constable Country.
Lincoln

Staying in hotels in the shadow of the Cathedral and close to the Castle. Did you walk down Steep Hill into the town centre ....AND ..... did you walk back up again ?
Ironbridge

In 2023 we had a delightful visit to the Blists Hill Victorian Village as well as the many museums, some of which were within walking distance of The Valley Hotel. Might be back - one day!
Slindon

Lunch at The Spur in Slindon was just one of the many events in 2018 to celebrate 70 years of Farm Women's Club. Our celebratory cakes were also enjoyed in Clevedon, the Annual Meeting in Oxford and Buxton.
Cirencester

Even with guided walks over the weekend there was still time to raise funds for RABI with a Welly Wanging competition in the grounds of the hotel. Thank you Gloucester ladies for organising the weekend.
Hurstbourne Tarrant May 2023
Esseborne Manor was a regular venue for the Five Counties Lunch but sadly our event in May 2023 was the last before the family business closed permanently. A great loss to us and, no doubt, the local community.
Tewkesbury

More than 40 guests met at The Puckrup Hall Hotel and Spa for the now well established walking weekend. Huge thanks to Celia McTeer who coordinated the organisation with a team from the Gloucestershire Club.
The New Forest
February 2022
Bouncing back after COVID the Hampshire group led by Celia Foote organised a super weekend at Chilworth Manor Hotel including a super coach trip and talk about the way of life in the New Forest. One husband commented .....'the best party ever!'
Colchester

We were all so happy to be able to gather again, face to face, at Marks Tey Hotel on the edge of Constable Country in Essex. Lovely walks, picturesque villages and places to explore - some were even brave enough to venture to the coast for a paddle !
Clevedon

The first of our FWC 70th Birthday celebrations took place at The Walton Park Hotel at the annual February weekend organised by Sue Rodaway The celebration cake was cut by regular and long time supporter of the weekends, Myfeda Hamer from Montgomeryshire.
